Location: Zindajan District, 3 Villages (Chah Azadi: Zoori Ha, HilalZayi Ha, Bahadoor Zayi Ha)
Project Start: 10-Oct-23
Project End: 31-Oct-23
Target Beneficiaries: 252 earthquake-affected households
Impact: Recognizing the immediate food insecurity caused by the earthquake, SAFE Organization launched an emergency food distribution initiative to ensure the survival and well-being of affected families. The initiative provided each household with a food package containing essential items such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, and red kidney beans, carefully selected to meet their dietary needs and sustain them through the crisis.
This intervention was critical in preventing malnutrition, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women, and the elderly, who were at heightened risk due to food shortages. The food distribution also alleviated financial burdens on families who lost their livelihoods as a result of the earthquake, enabling them to focus on rebuilding their homes and lives without the added stress of food insecurity. Additionally, SAFE Organization coordinated with local community leaders and volunteers to ensure that aid was distributed fairly and efficiently, maximizing the reach and impact of the program.
The success of this initiative demonstrated the organization’s ability to respond swiftly to emergencies, reinforcing its commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis. Beyond immediate relief, SAFE Organization continues to assess long-term needs in these affected villages, aiming to develop sustainable food security programs that will enhance resilience and preparedness for future disasters.
