General Food Distribution to Extremely Vulnerable Households

  • Location:
    District 10, Herat Urban

  • Project Start: 1-Nov-23

  • Project End: 10-Dec-23

  • Target Beneficiaries: Extremely vulnerable households affected by the earthquake

  • Impact: Following the devastating earthquake, many working-class individuals faced unemployment, leading to extreme food insecurity and financial hardships. SAFE Organization launched an urgent food distribution initiative to address this crisis by providing 160 whole-basket food rations to the most vulnerable families. Each food basket contained essential items such as flour, rice, lentils, cooking oil, sugar, and salt, ensuring that families had access to nutritious meals during the recovery period.

This initiative played a crucial role in preventing malnutrition, especially among children, pregnant women, and the elderly, who are particularly susceptible to food shortages. By implementing a structured and targeted approach, SAFE Organization ensured that aid reached those in dire need, including displaced families, single-parent households, and individuals unable to return to work due to the disaster. The food distribution efforts not only alleviated hunger but also provided a sense of security and hope to affected communities, fostering resilience and stability as they worked to rebuild their lives post-earthquake. SAFE Organization remains committed to long-term support and recovery programs to help families regain independence and stability.
