The SAFE Organization is proud to announce the successful completion of the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) project in Dam Darah village, Enjil District, Herat Province. This vital project aimed to improve sanitation services for communities affected by the recent earthquake, reducing health risks and supporting a healthier lifestyle for residents.
SAFE Organization expanded its relief efforts to include additional earthquake-affected households in Enjil and Robat Sangi Districts. This phase of the project focused on constructing 60 transitional shelters for families living in open areas.
With many families left homeless after the earthquake, SAFE Organization prioritized the construction of transitional shelters for the most vulnerable groups, including female-headed households, widows, and large families.
After assessing the critical needs of earthquake survivors, SAFE Organization identified the lack of food preparation facilities as a major issue. To address this, the organization constructed 30 bread ovens across three villages, enabling families to bake bread—a staple food in Afghanistan.
Following the earthquake, many working-class individuals were unable to resume employment, resulting in severe food insecurity. SAFE Organization intervened by distributing 160 whole-basket food rations to the most affected households.
Recognizing the immediate food insecurity caused by the earthquake, SAFE Organization initiated an emergency food distribution program to provide essential food supplies to affected households.
