Get to know us

Shelter, Access, Food & Education Organization (SAFE) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable communities in Afghanistan. Established in May 2023, SAFE was founded with the mission of providing essential support to those affected by displacement, poverty, and natural disasters. Our work is guided by the principles of decency, humanity, commitment, respect, and engagement, ensuring that every individual we serve has access to shelter, food, education, and job opportunities.

Headquartered in Herat, Afghanistan, SAFE Organization operates with a focus on sustainable development and community resilience. Our primary areas of intervention include:

  • Shelter Assistance: We construct durable, earthquake-resistant shelters for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and disaster-affected families. Our transitional shelter projects, developed in collaboration with engineering experts and international donors, provide safe and secure housing for those in need.
  • Food Security: Recognizing the urgent need for food assistance in disaster-affected regions, we conduct emergency food distributions, ensuring that vulnerable households receive essential nutrition during crises.
  • Education and Livelihood Programs: SAFE is committed to empowering individuals by providing educational opportunities and vocational training, equipping them with the skills needed to achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
  • Community Development and Disaster Preparedness: We engage with local communities to enhance resilience against future disasters through infrastructure development, capacity-building programs, and collaborative initiatives with local and international partners.

At SAFE Organization, we believe that sustainable progress is achieved through collective efforts. By fostering strong partnerships with humanitarian organizations, international donors, and local communities, we work towards creating a future where every individual has access to fundamental human rights and opportunities for growth.
